Head Chef
Position Overview
Artisan Restaurant is seeking an exceptional Head Chef to lead its gastronomic kitchen and deliver a refined, high-level culinary experience.
We are looking for a French Chef, or a Chef who has trained and worked in Michelin-starred French restaurants, with a deep understanding of French gastronomy, classical techniques, and modern culinary creativity.
The Head Chef will be responsible for the culinary direction of the restaurant, ensuring excellence in quality, creativity, and consistency while maintaining the highest standards of fine dining.
Artisan aims to become one of the leading gastronomic destinations in the Caribbean, and the Head Chef will play a key role in shaping its reputation and identity.
Key Responsabilities
Culinary Leadership
- Create and develop seasonal gastronomic menus inspired by French culinary excellence.
- Maintain the highest standards of taste, presentation, and refinement.
- Design tasting menus and special culinary experiences.
- Continuously innovate while respecting the foundations of French gastronomy.
Kitchen Management
- Lead, train, and inspire the kitchen team.
- Organize kitchen operations and ensure smooth service during high-end dining experiences.
- Implement strong discipline, precision, and teamwork within the kitchen brigade.
Quality & Product Excellence
- Select the best ingredient available, including premium local Caribbean products and imported specialty ingredients.
- Ensure exceptional consistency and presentation of every dish.
- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards.
Supplier & Product Management
- Work closely with management to source high-quality products.
- Manage purchasing, stock control, and product quality.
- Optimize kitchen organization while maintaining gastronomic standards.
Financial & Operational Management
- Monitor food costs and control kitchen budgets.
- Reduce waste while maintaining premium quality.
- Participate in strategic menu pricing.
Guest Experience
- Occasionally present dishes or interact with guests for special experiences.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional service.
- Contribute to the reputation and prestige of Artisan Restaurant.
Candidate Profile
- French Chef preferred, or Chef with significant experience in Michelin-starred French restaurants.
- Strong foundation in classical French gastronomy
- Proven experience in fine dining or gastronomic restaurants
- Passion for creativity, excellence, and culinary precision
- Leadership and team management skills
- Strong organization and ability to manage high-end service
- Experience in international kitchens is a plus
